ABOUT THE TREATMENT
HOW DO ACUPUNCTURE &
CHINESE HERBS WORK?
Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are our main staples of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture involves the insertion of sterile, single-use, filiform needles into specific parts of the body, known as acupuncture points. We now know that the acupuncture points that we needle are found along planes and webs of connective tissue and that by needling certain points, we can elicit a response from different parts of the body.
Western physiology may refer to these areas as motor or trigger points. Several acupuncture points have been shown to be located on or near vagal nerve receptor sites which explains why acupuncture has such a profound effect on the nervous system. There are also points located in the spaces between joints where there is a lack of blood flow. Acupuncture works by getting blood flow to these areas and therefore creates a localized healing response.
Because of Acupunctures calms the nervous system, we know that it can have a tremendous effect on a myriad of conditions including: infertility, menstrual disorders, IBS, anxiety or depression, insomnia, pain and many other inflammatory conditions and by increasing blood flow to certain areas we can deliver nutrients to areas that are inflamed and increase the rate of recovery. Acupuncture can definitely treat almost every condition.

ABOUT FERTILITY TREATMENT
HOW FERTILITY
TREATMENTS WORK?
Treatment for fertility often involves both partners (if possible) and a series of acupuncture sessions and Chinese herbal medicine. Lifestyle, nutrition and mind body work are also an integral part of this medicine and will be tailored towards each individual. Working with these couples is a great passion of Lindsay’s and she understands the emotional, physical, financial and spiritual stress that accompanies the desire to conceive.
In IVF, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine can help:
-
Support blood flow to the pelvic floor
-
Increase endometrial thickness
-
Support embryo implantation
-
Alleviate symptoms from medications
-
Reduce stress and anxiety
-
Increase circulation

DR. FOX'S
EXPERIENCE
While working in Annapolis, Dr. Lindsay has spent a great deal of her time working with couples who are trying to conceive both naturally and who are undergoing Western Fertility treatments. In fact, for Dr. Fox’s doctoral studies, she followed a local Reproductive Endocrinologist in Annapolis and most of her continuing education is focused on women’s reproductive health and fertility.
*Treatment for fertility often requires 1-2 acupuncture treatments per week (depending on condition and age) for 3-6 months. Depending on the condition being treated it may require further or more aggressive treatment planning.
